The rates on this page are refreshed every 24 hours via the European Central Bank (ECB). The ECB publishes reference rates on working days at around 16:00 CET. For real-time trading purposes, specialist trading platforms are more accurate.

The European Central Bank publishes official daily reference rates for around 30 currencies against the euro. These rates reflect the average market value on working days and are widely used as a neutral, independent source.

Banks and exchange bureaus apply a margin (spread) on top of the market rate to cover their costs and make a profit. The rate on this page is the raw mid-market rate from the ECB with no markup.
